Chodim se na nej divat jako na prvni vec kdyz prijdu domu, svitim mu, topim mu, zalejvam ho, chranim ho pred psem (a kdyby byly housenky tak i pred nima) a pripadam si jak maly princ. “A pro ten cas, ktery jsi sve borovici venovala, je ta tva borovice tak dulezita” rekla liska.

Between 2018-2021 was Branik temporarily home to someone who gave it a soul. I love the new wooden floors and use of vintage furniture. I’m glad that Victorian doors shipped from England are finally hanging and in use! I love the simplicity, cleanliness and dimmed colours.
Living room project – it happens that there actually was a fireplace once. It was very ugly and bad so it got removed, opening to the chimney closed, wall plastered and painted over. Then I got across this mantle piece from solid wood, collected it from someone who was getting rid of it, installed it exactly in the same place and painted over. Its fake, but its magic. There was compromise to be made in terms of location and size of TV which I did not want to be the central point of the room and I have found a solution in a form or adjustable arm. So its slightly further away but still close enough if we want to watch a movie.

Resourced from the freecycle, this cabinet, sturdy and charming, had badly damaged veneer on the cupboard doors and drawers. I went through a process of filling the holes, sanding down the wood filler and hand painting the surfaces. I have chosen a contrast combination of dark blue and lime green colours, there are two coats on a undercoat and re-positioned original handles. The top is treated with oil based varnish for worktops.
All four chairs were resources individually (junk market, freecycle). I was doing upholstery course so wanted to try and do this properly.

My second upholstering project. Armchair purchased for £10 at the Deptford market.
The ebay treasure I got few weeks ago got damaged. What now? Hunt for an another or re-do it? I decided for the later.
Once there was a very tired two bedroom flat on the second floor of a brick block building. It took some measuring, planning and great deal of imagining and creativity.
